Every year, the National Civil Service Day is observed on April 21 to commemorate the efforts of Civil Servants for implementing the government's policies and schemes.


 The government has chosen April 21 as the #NationalCivilServicesDay because on this day the first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel addressed the probationers of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Officers at Metcalf House, New Delhi, in 1947. Patel had referred to the Civil Servants as the 'steel frame of India'.


"Every citizen of India must remember that he is an Indian and he has every right in this country but with certain duties."



 On this day, civil servants dedicate themselves to the cause of citizens, renewing their commitments and excellence in work. The main objective of #celebrating this day is to inspire the efforts and works of civil servants.


Civil service is the backbone of the administrative machinery of the country. In India’s parliamentary democracy, they are responsible for running the administration along with the peoples representatives (ministers) elected by the general elections 


We Salute the Spirit of all the Civil Services Officers of India working tirelessly towards Welfare of the Nation on occasion of this National Civil Services Day- 2022 !


On this day, the Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration are presented.
